The site, www.MichCampgrounds.com, which launched today (Dec. 19), is highlighted by a campground directory which allows campers to search for a park in Michigan by region-northeast, northwest, southeast and southwest lower peninsula and the upper peninsula-and by campground features such as park and site amenities, and recreation activities.
"We're very excited about the launch of our new site, which we are confident campers will find insightful and informative," said Lori Tews, executive director at ARVC Michigan, which exclusively represents the interests of privately owned and operated RV parks and campgrounds. "We designed the site with travelers in mind, so it works well on computers, tablets and smartphones. Campers can find the information they need anywhere and on any device."
The ARVC Michigan site also features camping news, keeps campers apprised of news about association and camping-related issues, as well as camping-related events and programs across the state.
The unique "camper's guide" section of the site offers helpful checklists for both tent and RV campers.
"Anyone who has camped has had a trip where they have forgotten to pack one or more essential items, whether it is extra tent stakes for their tent or waste tank chemicals for their RV," said Tews. "We want campers to enjoy their vacation, and that starts with the reassurance that they have packed everything they will need while they're at the campground."
ARVC Michigan represents nearly 165 campgrounds with more than 25,000 sites available throughout the state. These privately-owned campgrounds are promoted in an annual Michigan Campground Directory, available at various locations statewide, including all Michigan Welcome Centers. The association's mission is to lead in the development of the RV Parks and Campground industry through education, communication and representation.
