On the eve of summer travel season, the Ohio Office of Tourism and Ohio's tourism industry are enticing travelers to start planning their Ohio getaways with a series of promotions during the month of May. Travelers will be able to purchase Ohio experiences at discounts of 50 percent or more through a unique Groupon (www.groupon.com) partnership, win fantastic prizes through a brand new Instagram Photo sharing contest, and gather Ohio travel ideas by visiting the "Ohio Too Much Fun" Mobile Tour.
"The Office of Tourism has created partnership opportunities with Ohio's tourism industry members to jump-start consumer travel planning in May," said State Tourism Director Amir Eylon. "May is prime travel-planning season when all of our marketing tactics really click into full gear, so we expand on National Tourism Week (May 5-13, 2012) and have special promotions, announcements and events all month."
Following is a list of partnerships in which the Office of Tourism is participating with industry members to promote Ohio Tourism Month and the spring/summer travel season in Ohio:
- Groupon's Ohio Tourism Week: Groupon and the Ohio Office of Tourism have again partnered to offer a week of statewide tourism deals. From May 7-13, Groupon will feature tourism-related deals each and every day in all Ohio Groupon markets (Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati, Dayton, Toledo, Youngstown and Akron/Canton). Check out DiscoverOhio.com to learn more about this promotion. Some of the experiences include museums, minor league baseball games, ATV riding and family fun adventure parks.
- Instagram Photo Contest: Ohio Tourism will host an Instagram photo sharing contest May 6-20. Find Ohio Tourism on Instagram by downloading the mobile app on your iPhone or Android and searching for the user "Ohiogram." If you don't have access to a mobile phone, find us on the web at http://statigr.am/ohiogram. Details of the Instagram contest will be posted soon on the "Ohiogram" Instagram page.
- Too Much Fun Mobile Tour: For a third year, the Ohio Office of Tourism in partnership with Honda of America Manufacturing, Inc., is hitting the road with the "Too Much Fun-Mobile." The branded Honda Odyssey (Too Much Fun-Mobile) will market Ohio tourism experiences to consumers at 13 of the top spring/summer events in Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Illinois and Michigan. The Office of Tourism and 21 Ohio tourism industry partners make the mobile tour a reality!
