Fun Things to do at a Michigan Campground (or a campground in any other state, for that matter)
From Travel Michigan
You don’t have to leave your favorite campground or spend lots of money to find fun family entertainment while enjoying a Pure Michigan camping getaway. There are lots of recreational activities and hobbies that the whole family can take part in-- regardless of age or ability. Here are some popular activities to try during your next Michigan camping adventure.
Hiking — Some of nature’s best views are off the beaten path. Research hiking trails to explore near your campground. Be sure to consult your campground or the Michigan Department of Natural Resources for hiking trail recommendations and safety tips.
Biking — By taking a biking tour, you can venture out even farther than just hiking. There are hundreds of biking paths throughout Michigan, many which are located near campgrounds for easy access. Check with your campground or research the internet for nearby paths.
Games — There will be times when it may be too hot or rainy for outside activities or times when everyone wants to just relax. Games are the perfect way to pass the time. Pack both adult and children’s games, so there will be something for everyone.
Star Gazing — Whether you use a telescope or just your eyes, the rural setting of a campground is perfect to star gaze without the interference of city lights. Take along a star-gazing book or map to help identify stars and constellations.
