Michigan DNR offers women the chance to learn about Fishing, Shooting, Kayaking and more in July

The Department of Natural Resources is offering a variety of opportunities for women to learn new ways to enjoy the outdoors this July, through its Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (BOW) program. These hands-on workshops, designed primarily for those 18 and older, teach women the skills needed to take part in outdoor recreational activities.

"Whether you want to try your hand at a new outdoor pursuit, or improve your skills at something you've already tried, we've got something for everyone," said BOW program coordinator Sue Tabor. "We're adding new classes all the time, and July is packed full of outdoor fun – everything from shooting and fishing to kayaking and photography."

July BOW programs are taking place in the Detroit, Grand Rapids/Kalamazoo, Flint/Saginaw and Ludington areas.
