As peak travel season approaches, the Ohio Tourism Division and the state's tourism industry are in the midst of a month-long celebration of Ohio tourism that will yield big benefits for families planning their Ohio vacation experience.

To highlight Ohio's exceptional tourism opportunities, the Division is partnering with Ohio's tourism industry members to offer new - and fun - contests, giveaways, deals and value-driven packages to encourage travel to and in Ohio during the month of May and beyond. From text-to-win adventures to daily deals through Groupon, this is the perfect time to plan an Ohio adventure!

"Summer is right around the corner, and Ohio is once again offering great vacation opportunities for the upcoming travel season. The Division has been hard at work developing programs that showcase Ohio's numerous value-driven travel options and budget-friendly adventures," said State Tourism Director Amir Eylon. "American consumers believe in summer vacations as an inherent right, and Ohio Tourism Month is a great time to plan, or even enjoy, an Ohio getaway with deals, contests and giveaways to Ohio's world-class destinations."

The following list highlights a number of partnerships the Division has created with industry members to celebrate Ohio Tourism Month and the spring/summer travel season in Ohio:

  • Too Much Fun-Mobile: For the second straight year, the Ohio Tourism Division is hitting the road with the "Too Much Fun-Mobile" program. The branded Honda Element (Too Much Fun-Mobile) will market Ohio Tourism experiences to consumers at 14 of the top spring/summer events in Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Illinois and Michigan. Consumers who stop by the Fun-Mobile booth can register to win great Ohio travel packages and free gas for a year from Speedway.
  • Ohio Travel Packages Text-to-Win Program: By texting "hi" to 62447, consumers are instantly entered to win one of four packages to some of Ohio's premier destinations. One package includes four tickets to Kings Island, four tickets to the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden and two nights of lodging. Other packages feature Hocking Hills, the Columbus area and Quail Hollow. Consumers without mobile texting may enter to win the Ohio travel packages online at DiscoverOhio.com
  • Say "hi" to Ohio: The logo will be on display at various locations around the state, and it is available for tourism entities and consumers to download, print and post via social media channels. You can view our Say "hi" to Ohio Facebook contest by visiting http://www.facebook.com/DiscoverOhio and clicking the Say "hi" to Ohio tab. The Ohio Tourism Division is encouraging consumers to seek out the "hi" logo at Ohio tourism destinations, take their photo with the "hi" logo and submit their photos for a chance to win an Ohio getaway.
  • Groupon's Ohio Tourism Week: Groupon and the Ohio Tourism Division have partnered to create the first-ever week of statewide tourism deals. Through May 15, during Ohio Tourism Week, Groupon will exclusively feature tourism-related deals each and every day in all Ohio cities. Check out DiscoverOhio.com to learn more about this promotion.
