And, like you, I've seen many people wearing Crocs at the campgrounds. Slip them on, walk around the campsite, or to the campground bathroom, and slip them off before you head inside your RV. Simple, easy and not hard to do. Yes, I know I just said the same thing three times, but that's the overwhelming appeal to Crocs while camping.
I never doubted that they were easy to wear, and probably just as comfortable as the flip-flops I prefer when camping. But I could never get past the big plastic clog look.
So I was more than skeptical when the Crocs shoe company contacted me about helping to promote their new lineup of spring and summer shoes.
At first glance I was pleasantly surprised at the styles. I guess I was expecting the plastic clogs we've all come to known generically as Crocs. Instead, Crocs have come out with styles that mimic other classic shoe styles, including a tennis shoe reminiscent of the old green and white Stan Smith model from Adidas (raise your hand with me if you had a pair of these!). Shoot, they even have a wedge shoe for the ladies.
Included in the promotional material was a pair of Crocadise Loafers that ... ahem ... just happened to be in my size. I've worn them for the better part of a couple of weeks now, and I have to admit that I really do like them. The plastic sole is very comfortable and the canvas material alleviated any concerns the rest of my family had about my feet getting sweaty and stinky.
Will they replace my flip-flops? Probably not. But for non-Croc people, I would definitely recommend them as an everyday summer shoe. And Croc-lovers will appreciate the same Croc comfort is now available in styles that won't draw a chuckle from people like me.
