Construction will close facility from January through March
COLUMBUS, OH – The campground at Burr Oak State Park will be closed this winter, from Jan. 1 through March 31, 2011, while construction on facility improvements takes place, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), Division of Parks and Recreation.
Improvements include replacing all sewer lines in the campground, constructing a new dump station, and replacing drinking fountains and waste drains. This is phase one of planned improvements and is budgeted at $1.1 million.
“We apologize to our visitors for the closure,” said Mike Powers, Burr Oak regional park manager. “We know campground users will appreciate the improvements when it reopens in April.”
The general contractor for the project is TAM Construction Inc. of Athens and the electrical contractor is Ed Green Electric Inc. of Logan.
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources ensures a balance between wise use and protection of our natural resources for the benefit of all. Visit the ODNR Web site at www.ohiodnr.com.
