Fresh off the “Sports Illustrated Tailgate Tour president by Go RVing” making a stop in East Lansing for the MSU vs. Oregon game, the Michigan Association of Recreation Vehicles and Campgrounds (MARVAC) is gearing up for the Fall Detroit Camper & RV Show.
Slated for Sept. 30 to Oct. 4 at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, Mich., about 30 minutes outside of Detroit, the show sold out its exhibit space and officials are expecting another successful run.
“With the industry in a very stable mode right now, we anticipate that we will see good attendance at the fall show with the introduction of 2016 RV models that the dealers will have on display there,” said MARVAC Director Bill Sheffer. “We’ve had a very successful sale of show space both with dealers and with booth exhibitors so we anticipate that we will have the right mix of product and information for people who come to the show.”
Sheffer said they expect to have as many as 280 RVs on display, among them a 45-foot 2016 American Coach Eagle from Veurinks RV Center in Grand Rapids. With an MSRP of $730,000, the Eagle features a full-wall slide out, a patented emergency exit door in the rear bathroom and a redesigned, luxurious interior and exterior.
Also on display will be the cute-as-a bug Cricket Trailer, brought to the show by Westland Camping Center in Westland. Made entirely of aluminum and towable by virtually any four-cylinder vehicle, this cross between pop-up and travel trailer was designed by a NASA engineer.
All types of 2016 recreation vehicles will be onsite including folding campers, motorhomes, travel trailers, truck campers, fifth wheel travel trailers, representing 50 different brands and ranging in price from $6,995 to more than $700,000. Dealers will offer super end-of-season sale prices on 2015 models. Booths featuring parts and accessories, campground information, on-site RV financing and RV rentals make this the complete RV show experience.
At the show, enter to win event tickets and camping packages for 2016 MIS events from Michigan International Speedway (winning package includes camping and tickets to an MIS event of your choice).
Consumers can pick up the 2015 RV & Campsite -- a perfect travel guide to campgrounds and RV dealers in Michigan.
The Fall Detroit Camper & RV Show will be held in Novi at Suburban Collection Showplace and is open weekdays 2-9 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m.-9 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m.-6 p.m. The cost for adult admission (ages 13 and up) is $10; senior admission is $9; children ages 12 and under are admitted free! Parking is not included in admission. Discount admission coupon available at www.marvac.org, Big Boy restaurants, Biggby Coffee locations and in area newspapers. With this special coupon, all consumers can get $1-off any adult or senior admission.
