Previously known as the South Haven Family Campground, they will be adding 6 new cottages this spring. These cottages will include full bathrooms and full kitchens.
That's not to mention the 40 additional full hook-up sites complete with cable, as well as a brand new retail store, which will house a new laundry area, fitness and business area.
"We're just waiting for the weather to break to start the final phase of the original campground plans," said owner Susan Novotny. "The Ranger Station is already built but we are currently in the process of finishing the inside of the new 1800 sq. ft. retail store. We are really excited about the upper level of the Ranger Station, as this will be able to be rented out for private birthday parties, family reunions, or rallies. The upper level also has a 1000 sq. ft. deck to entertain on, which overlooks the back half of the campground."
With the completion of the 6 new cottages and 40 new full hook-up sites, that will bring the total number to 23 cabin/cottage rentals and 104 of all site types.
"Most of the new cottages will have screened-in porches and some even have fireplaces," said Novotny. "It's exciting and a little intimidating that we are adding more cottages again this year, as well as the full hook-up sites, the brand new store, and doing it all at the same time."
South Haven Jellystone Park currently has 13 basic cabin units and now 10 cottages that include the bathrooms and kitchens. The 6 newly arriving cottage units will be available around the Memorial Day Holiday.
The South Haven Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort encourages all types of camping at their facility, including tents, pop-ups, RV's, motor homes, cabins and cottages.
Besides the major facility enhancements to the resort, the resort will be adding a lot of new amenities as well. A basketball ball court will be installed, a gaga pit that is ADA accessible (gaga ball is like kick ball only you use your hands in an octagon shaped court), Twilight Theater which will be for outdoor movies, Hay rides will be offered several times a week, golf cart rentals will be available and of course daily appearances with Yogi Bear.
