I stumbled across the federal government's website for National Traffic and Road Closure Information the other day and thought it be a handy dandy little addition to our RVing pre-planning checklist - especially for RVers who are full-timers or taking extended trips across several states.
Of course, many high-end GPS units, especially those designed specifically for RVers, will have the same information. But for those of us without such conveniences, being able to access the same information through this website is a nice option.
The Home Page allows you to:
- click on a state and be taken to links of that state's traffic and road construction/closure information;
- click on a link and be taken to "511 - America's traveler Information Telephone Number"
- click on one of several links for other national sources
