COLUMBUS, OH – Vacationers who make their state park camping and cottage reservations now can enjoy rewards later as part of Ohio State Parks “March to the Parks – Bonus Points Madness” program, offered through March 31.
Ohio State Parks rewards members who book reservations during the month of March for stays any time in the next 12 months can receive 1,000 bonus rewards points for each reservation, in addition to the points they earn for each dollar spent on camping fees, getaway rental fees or select cottage rentals. The rewards card points can be redeemed in the future for free overnight stays.
“With warm weather and the camping season right around the corner, we want to encourage our loyal customers to plan their state park trips now and reward them for reserving early,” said Glen Cobb, deputy director of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR).
The rewards program applies to camping fees in any of Ohio State Parks’ 55 family campgrounds or 16 horseman’s camps, getaway rentals at 38 state parks and cottage rental fees at Buck Creek, Cowan Lake, Dillon, Hocking Hills, Lake Hope, Mohican, Pike Lake and Pymatuning state parks. Day use facilities, including picnic shelters, pavilions, meeting rooms and day lodges at 57 state parks are also included in the rewards card program and the March bonus, when reservations are made. A schedule of points needed is available at www.ohiodnr.com/parks.
To take advantage of the “March to the Parks” program, customers must have an Ohio State Parks rewards card. Members can then book their reservations by calling 866-OHIOPARKS (866-644-6727) or visiting the website of the Ohio State Parks. Rewards membership cards are free and can also be reserved online and by phone as well as in person at any Ohio State Park business offices during normal business hours.
Campsites and getaway rentals can be reserved up to six months in advance, and cottages can be reserved up to one year in advance. Full payment for camping and getaway rental fees must be paid to secure the reservation. To streamline check-in, cottages also must be paid in full upon securing the registration.
