Roscommon, MI – If you have ever dreamed of a winter break or a romantic weekend in the splendid isolation of a luxurious country estate, Forest Dunes Golf Club can make your dreams come true.
The nationally acclaimed club is offering winter packages of six luxury homes, unlimited cross-country skiing, and snowshoe trails where all you have to do is show up. The club provides concierge service to stock up the homes with food and drink of your choice before you arrive if you choose not to bring your own. Adult and junior cross country skis and snowshoes are available for rent.
For the romantic at heart, the stay and ski packages for couples includes a bottle of champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, and assorted bath scents and candles. You can order roses from the concierge for a special touch.
The six homes are beautifully appointed. The Dunes cottage, for instance, has a sunken living room with a fireplace, a large Jacuzzi tub off the master bedroom with windows overlooking the woods, and a year-round sunroom off a large kitchen with granite countertops.
“We are trying to give folks an idea of how they can use the homes differently than just for golf or skiing. Say their anniversary is coming up, what a great place to stay,” said Donny Fisher, the club’s head golf professional. “You have a great home, your cares go away as soon as you go through the gate, you have the beautiful snowfall and the fire place going, and it’s just a beautiful place to relax.”
Fisher’s enthusiasm for Forest Dunes is shared by Golfweek magazine’s experts who placed the club at No. 37 on its 2010 list of the Top 100 residential courses in America.
“We’ve been on that list for four or five years and considering the big names on that list we are proud that our excellence in golf and real estate continues to be recognized nationally,” Fisher said.
The couple’s package is available now while the skiing will begin once there is a 10-inch base of snow. Double occupancy rates Monday through Wednesday are $109 for one night and $159 for two nights. Weekend rates Thursday through Sunday are $139 for one night and $199 for two nights. Skis for the length of your stay are $40 for adults, $30 for juniors and snowshoes can be rented for $27.
